“Some people you can look at and just tell..he ain't shit. I look at a guy like a Ryan Conners and my expectation level just fuckin plummets. I'm talkin like Stock Market crash plummet. I look at Ryan Conners and I can't help but to just laugh. In what universe does he gotta live in to think he's gotta chance against me? Much less a chance against me and Gabe when the time comes.”
The scene faded into view, revealing none other than one half of the Fuckin Awesome Tag Team Champions: “YOUR Favorite Drug” Xavier Laroux. Inside a local gym, Xavier stood behind a weight bag as Alaina sent stiff forearm and knee shots into it.
Seemingly undeterred by this, Xavier continued his diatribe against Conners.
“I've known of Ryan for a good few years now, stemming back into my relationship with Kaci. But I don't think we’ve ever really faced one another. There mighta been somethin? But truth be told, if there was..it just wasn't memorable. I mean, I can sit here and give you a top 20 list of people I've faced and if I've faced that man, he either just doesn't make the cut or I really don't give a fuck.”
“Bottom of the barrel?”
The out of breath voice of Alaina asked that question, but before he could respond, “The Antagonist” Gabriel Laroux motioned his head towards Xavier.
“Back to the bag, Alaina.”
Xavier took the cue as he stepped away from that bag, Gabriel taking his place in holding it steady as Xavier made his way outside for a smoke.
“But like I said. I've never heard a good thing bout Conners. Whether it was Kaci tellin me how much he fawned over her while I was with her. Or Jess tellin me whatta jealous fuck he was when she came to me about their problems, which apparently, I was one of. I've just never heard a good thing bout that boy. And truth is, I could stand here and tell stories, truthful ones, that'd make Mrs. Conners really think. But truth is? There's no more Kaci. There's no more Jess. Well? Lot’s changed since that and here we are. Ryan Conners has a chance to solve this problem.”
“Am I sayin he's gonna solve it? Fuck no. He's gonna damn sure try but fact is: I’m better. Just all around better. I've been runnin high since this year began and nobody has been able to knock me down. If Sasha Foote couldn't stop me, what the fuck makes Ryan think he can? I mean, c’mon now. Sure Ryan’s gonna play the role he's supposed to, but what is a jealous, insecure, less than average guy gonna do against me? Territorial, these are our titles. Confident, nobody believes in themselves more than I do, hell, I’m my own number one fan.”
“Each time I step into that ring, I grow, I learn more. My strikes have been fine tuned cause of this and Ryan is bout to take the brunt of all I've learned. It's easy to sit there and say you're ready but unless you know, unless you've been there before, it's not really possible to be ready. How do you get ready for a guy who wants to take your head off with a knee?”
“How do you get ready for a guy who will do and say whatever it takes to fuck with your head going into the match? See, you should know how I operate, Ryan. But most importantly, you should know that you just don't get ready for a fight against me. I want you to bring it all. Any negative feelings you've ever had about me? Bring’em to the match.”
“Want you to unleash all those on me. Let’em fuel you. Remember how you felt when Jess was comin to me instead of you bout the problems you two were havin. Let all those feelins travel down to your fists, your feet and just come at me with all of it. You're gonna need that...and so so much more. Hopefully, I'll be hearin from ya soon.”
Taking the final hit off of that cigarette, Xavier flicked the butt out into the street before looking to the camera with that oh so arrogant smirk.
“No worries at all.”
