The scene opens with Liam sitting down at his dinner table. In front of him sits a replica statue of Julius Caesar. Liam looks down at the statue and smiles before glancing back up af the camera.
“Beware the Ides of March. A phrase that's been echoed throughout history ever since the fateful day that Julius Caesar was assassinated. What a fitting day today is, right? I also found it fitting that Gabriel compared the tag division to Rome. I do agree that this division is rising, just like the Roman Empire did. And yeah, Julius Caesar played a role in it. Eventually he power went to Julius’ head and his ego grew… So then he tried to become the emperor of Rome and for that, he was assassinated.”
Liam pauses before pulling up from his lap, a Larry Bird action figure in his green and white Celtics jersey. He takes the Larry Bird action figure and uses it to dropkick the Julius Caesar statue off the table and it falls to the ground, breaking in half.
“Ya see that? Julius Caesar wanting to much power got him killed and that's why it makes sense Gabriel compared him and his brother to Julius. They're both power hungry and will do whatever it takes to keep the tag belts. But Sean and I? We’ve been conspiring against them to take those belts and our tag division, our little version of Rome, needs new leadership. And just like how Rome thrived without Julius, the FAW tag division will thrive and become great under Sean and I as the tag champs!”
He grins as he looks down at the Larry Bird figurine before laughing and setting it down on the table.
“Sorry, that was the most Irish thing I had lying around to represent Sean and I. But hey, got the job done, right? The big reason Xavier and Gabriel are going to lose is because of their oversized egos. Everything comes down to ego for them. They think I give a shut that Paz is fighting for the top title while I'm in the tag division. News flash, I chose to be here. Just like Cause and Effect, this is what I want to do. So the Paz argument? Doesn't work! Besides, I'm proud of her.”
He casually shrugs.
“I think it's funny that you two brag about where else you wrestle. It just shows how you're wearing yourselves thin while Sean and I have been staying fresh… All we’ve done is prepare for this match. You think we aren't ready and don't belong here? Well guess what? You gotta fucking deal with us anyway and as you both know, I'm always bringing a fight and Sean has shown that he always is too.”
“You might not see champions when you look at us by you know what? Other people do and that's why we’re in this position. Sean and I got here for our ability to make a statement. When I shoved that belt into Gabriel’s face, I put him and the whole world on notice. But you two wanted to no seek it and call it a coward move. Why? Winning that match didn't matter to me… But making a statement did. But this match we’re in now? This is the one that matters, this is the match that I care about winning.”
“Right now I'm not concerned with any Degrassi drama or whatever the fuck you called it. We’ve had some family issues but who the hell doesn't? I have a life outside of the ring and shit happens. But at the end of the day, I'm here and ready to work and fight for everything that comes my way. My career is my main focus and to think that Sean and I haven't been preparing for this is foolish. It's clear that you two aren't ready for this match.”
“I don't say that because I doubt your abilities but I say it because you doubt ours. Throwing out insults like that we need to grow up isn't going to bother us. We know we're younger than most folks on the roster, that much is obvious. But if you look at all of the title matches, you'll see young people fighting for all of the belts. Paz, Noah, Cass, Lacklan and then us, of course! The younger generation of FAW is damn talented and the old guard? Well, they've got to go… Just like Julius Caesar.”
“Why? Because your ideals and style is outdated. But most of all, it's because you don't love wrestling like we do. This sport? It runs within us more than you could ever imagine. The love and passion for wrestling is something our dad passed down to us. Why do you guys do it? Just because you can? Xavier seems to have fun but what about you, Gabriel? You used to be a bouncer before Xavier let you tag along with him. And you want to talk about me being jealous about where Paz is? Well, I wonder how Gabriel feels about the fact that he's holding Xavier down.”
“The fact of the matter is, it was less than a year ago when Xavier was IPW Heavyweight Champion. He's been to the top and now? Now he's busy carrying his brother. But Sean and I? We see each other as equals and this is what we want. Sitting back and looking at the landscape of it all, you can't help but wonder if Xavier wants more? Only time will tell but you want to know what I believe? I believe that Sean and I are going to win the tag belts and turn Cause and Effect into the next WesBrynn. But most of all, we’re going to slay you like the power hungry bitches you are. Beware the Ides of March.”
A grin runs across his face before the scene fades to black.
